The Los Angeles Fire Department Regulation #4 requires high-rise buildings to undertake a complete inspection and test of all Fire Life Safety Systems on an annual basis. This is designed to ensure the system’s proper operation in the event of an emergency. The Engineering Department, together with our vendors, will be testing the system. Please see below for the upcoming date:
EMERGENCY POWER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM [5/9] 6:00AM:
There will be a full shutdown of the normal power serving the Tower and Wing Buildings, as well as all Stages at 6:00AM on Saturday, May 9th. This will simulate a power failure enabling the inspectors to test the emergency generator, automatic transfer switches, and elevator operation on the emergency power system. A survey of all buildings will also be performed to ensure proper emergency lighting levels. There will be no lighting in the suites during the testing period.
NOTE: All tenants who have computer systems of any kind and/or computer-controlled telephone systems are advised to shut down their systems prior to the Emergency Power testing on May 9th. Technical Services can assist if need be. Engineering will turn off normal power on May 9th, at 6:00AM sharp, and normal power should resume by 3:00PM.
